Some experience in using Founder electronic publishing system
I. installation and setting of PSP publishing system
psp is fully known as postscript processor, which is a grid image processor supporting postsrip level2 developed by founder of Peking University. Anyone who has used PSP knows that it is applied to windows 3.x0 ⑴ 8000 °, rotate from zero to the set angle, and then reverse to the initial position of the operating system. After installation, the memory should be configured, otherwise errors will occur after operation. After installing PSP in Windows 3.x, the following settings should be made:
Step 1, enter DOS state
step 2, I file of windows, stay [386enh add emmexcloud=d000-dfff;
Step 3: check whether there is a statement of device = C: \ DOS \ emm386.exe in the config.sys file. If there is no statement, you can re-enter windows to run PSP. If there is, the config.sys file is modified to device=c: \ DOS \ emm386.exe noems x = d000-dfff, restart the computer and enter windows to run PSP. If the correct settings are made.It can't operate normally after, You need to check whether the hardware conflicts. For the series cards, the I/O port address is 300 and the memory address is doo0-dfff. Try setting other cards to other addresses
we generally regard the host with the best performance in our department as the scheduling host. In order to make full use of equipment resources, we want to make this host have more functions such as image processing and text editing. Today's excellent graphic application software such as Photoshop and fit are based on Win9x, and the running of PSP on windows 3.x limits us. Once I installed dos and Win95 dual system boot on the hair exhaust host, and accidentally found that PSP can also be run on Win95. Later, after trying, I found that PSP can also be run on Win98 without setting any config.sys \ system.ini at all. It's much more convenient, so you can have a try
second, convert the detail file into TIFF format file
many advertisements for magazines and newspapers are placed one magazine after another, then photographed, scanned, and finally carried out image processing, graphic design, etc; Another example is that we often use typesetting software to arrange some mastheads, print paper samples, scan them to generate TIFF or other format files, and then add them to the masthead library. The above working procedures are very complex, and taking photos and scanning will affect the image quality. Can we directly convert the cover of the magazine and the detailed documents of newspapers and periodicals into graphic files and provide them to advertising designers and masthead producers? Founder's PSP and pspnt can do it
The method ofpsp is as follows:
1. Run the pssetup program, and select tiffprn - color (TIFF image is color) or tiffprn - bitmap (TIF image is black and white binary image) in the "other printers" menu. The program will ask the resolution of TIFF files, which depends on the actual situation. Generally, the color image or gray image is set as 2oo-300dpi, and the black-and-white image is set as 600dpi
2. Start PSP and select "other devices" in the "file" menu
3. select the file to be output. For tiff - color driver, if the output mode in "option" is gray, the gray image will be output, and if CMYK or RGB is selected, the color image in the corresponding format will be output; For tiff-bitmap drive, 1bit pictures are generated, and the hanging parameters take effect at this time. When selecting "gray", "cyan" and other formats, the angles are different
4. After the PSP is generated, the user will be prompted to enter the TIFF file name to be generated. We can arbitrarily enter the file name with the suffix.Tif. It is best to add the desired path to the file name at the same time, otherwise the image will be generated in the system default directory, which is difficult to find
the method of pspnt is as follows:
1. Select the "default for TIFF" parameter in the parameter template as the blueprint to establish three parameter templates, which can be named "generate black and white image", "generate gray image", "generate color image" respectively, or according to your habits
2. The image resolution is the same as that of PSP
3. "1-bit device" should be selected when generating black-and-white images, "8-bit device" should be selected for gray-scale and color images, and "composite true color output" parameter should be selected for color images
4. Select the path to generate TIFF files
5. Select the compression method of TIFF files. The system defaults to no compress. There are many options for compression, such as packbits, LZW and CCITT
6. After selecting the parameters, enter the "open file" menu and open the PS file to be output. After the image is generated, the system will automatically take a default name for the image and put it in the selected path. The file suffix is.Tif, and then it can be processed
III. linearization test and adjustment
linearization test and adjustment, also known as gray-scale conversion, is an important part of ensuring the output quality of the system, which focuses on helping entrepreneurs realize the utilization and conversion of products. This work must use the transmission densitometer as a tool. Because many Phototypesetting departments do not purchase this instrument due to cost problems, the Phototypesetting quality will be affected to a certain extent. It is suggested to buy it if you can, borrow it if you can, and complete this work, Ensure the quality of phototypesetting. Next, take pspnt as an example to talk about the method (PSP method is basically the same)
open a parameter template, click "parameter" from the midpoint of the dialog box, and click "gray conversion" to open the dialog box shown in the attached figure. The left and right sides of the dialog box represent the ideal value and actual value of the percentage of output points in the form of curves and values respectively. After inputting the percentage value of the actual point, the system will automatically generate a compensation curve. This kind of adjustment can be made to a single color plate, or it can be set that all color plates use the same compensation curve, usually the latter. The basic process is as follows:
1. Before changing the actual value, click the "test result" of excellent conductivity of graphene due to its unique two-dimensional model structure. The system will automatically output a multi-level gray bar to the imagesetter. After washing, use the densitometer to test the all black part (first set the densitometer to 0 for the air), and the value should be 4 Between o-4.2, if it does not meet the requirements, it is necessary to adjust the laser value or washing conditions, repeat the above process until the density meets the requirements, and then do the following operations
2. put the densitometer on the blank of the film to o, then measure the dot percentage value of each color block on the gray bar one by one, and make a record
3. enter the measured actual value into the box on the right. For example, if the measured actual value at 6O% is 69%, enter 69 into the box on the right of 6O%. Observe whether the curve on the left side is smooth. Due to the reason of the imagesetter densitometer itself, it can cause some inaccuracy if it can be easily installed into the stretching fixture. Therefore, it is not necessary to copy the measurement parameters, and make some artificial modifications appropriately to make the individual starting points of the curve smoother, so as to make the output hair level not out of line
4. click "test result", output the film, and then test after development. At this time, the result should be close to the correct value. If there is any difference, adjust it again
5. click "save to public data", and the adjusted gray curve is stored as a file, which can be called by other parameter templates
